We are excited to welcome you, fellow soybean farmers, back to the Soybean Summit on February 1.

We are excited to welcome you, fellow soybean farmers, back to the Soybean Summit on February 1. The Illinois Soybean Association is ready to “Checkoff Your Boxes” as we present the 2022 Soybean Summit. After a year of virtual meetings and events, this event will showcase learning for greater agronomic insights, learning opportunities, and above all, fellowship with other soybean farmers. ISA’s mission is to bring you the latest information, tools, and technologies to help produce higher soybean yields and improve profitability. We are committed to your success both on and off the farm. This year, we’ve rounded up expert advice in agronomics, technology, and carbon but the resources don’t end there.

Soybean Summit is one way we can gather as soybean producers, agribusiness professionals, and certified crop advisers to gain working knowledge we can use to produce high quality soybeans. The applicable information is unmatched, Illinois specific, and just for you. As a farmer myself, I walk away each year with ideas and an excitement of the year to come. I not only gain knowledge but build relationships at the Soybean Summit.

Our sessions are chalked full of information guaranteed to bring you new learning and engagement opportunities to grow your operation.

We have lined up the best agriculture leaders to speak during Soybean Summit – with keynotes from Dr. Laura Gentry and Kris Ehler. Dr. Gentry will be reviewing highlights of the Precision Conservation Management (PCM) program and will demonstrate why farmers need to be learning more about how conservation practices such as reduced and no-till, cover crops, and nitrogen management impact corn and soybean production, profitability, and environmental influence. Kris Ehler is slated to discuss core strategies to increase soybean yields. As he is in pursuit of learning what creates higher yields, Ehler will provide small tips for farmers that can create increased results in harvest.

We will round out the morning with an Ask the Expert Q&A session, we will dig in and answer some of the deeper questions farmers and agribusiness professionals have when it comes to their operation focused on carbon, agronomy, and everything in between.

With nine other breakout sessions to choose from, there is something for everyone in attendance.

Join any of these three tracks sessions to fuel your bottom line:

Carbon Track

  • Kris Reynolds: Tying it Together and How Carbon Can Benefit You
  • Jonah Kolb: The State of Carbon: Which Way is Up?
  • Adam Kiel: Carbon Markets and the Soil and Water Outcomes Fund

Weeds Track

  • Dr. Aaron Hager: New Looks from an Old Herbicide, Again
  • Dr. Karla Gage: Integrated Weed Management as a Stewardship Tactic
  • Dr. Nick Seiter: Insect Defoliation and Insecticide Use in Illinois

Agronomy Track

  • Dr. Brian Diers: Development of SOYLEIC Varieties for Illinois
  • Jack Marck: Emerging Technologies for Agronomy
  • Jenna Severs and Tony Stierwalt: Non-GMO – We Do It for The Money

As farmers, it’s important to share information while gaining knowledge from others – knowledge sharing gets us closer to the goals we continually set. This event offers the opportunity for just that. With fresh and energizing speakers and topics each year, it’s repeatedly useful for every one of us. As technology and the use of carbon keeps evolving, it’s critical to continue growing and understanding the best ways and practices to utilize on our operations.
